From the street you would be forgiven for thinking the building is just a warehouse, but behind the front doors the building is comfortable and homely.

The house features cement floors and visible metal beams throughout jutting out from the red brick walls.

The open plan kitchen is appointed with chefs appliances and the massive bench space doubles as an informal eating area.

The central courtyard is open to the sky – perfect for catching sunshine on cold days or warming up the pool for an informal summer barbecue.

The house also features a library with ceiling high book shelves and a home office

The six-bedroom home at 198-200 Australia Street in Newtown was put on the market in April last year but failed to find a buyer.

It is now listed with The Agency Eastern Suburbs and has a price guide of up to $7 million.

The building was built just after the turn of last century and used as a bakery.

It was then expanded in 1921 and used as a clothing factory.

The current owner purchased the house 25 years ago for $650.000, which was high for that time.

‘People have seen the pool on Google Earth and thought it was on the roof,’ Mr Miller told The Daily Telegraph in 2018.

‘You don’t really even know Newtown is there until there is a Swans match on.’
