Forget the LBD. If you’re one to believe current trends, it’s all about the little white dress right now.

After style bible, Women’s Wear Daily, reported that searches for white dresses are outstripping black dresses for the first time, FEMAIL took a look at the celebrities loving the look and how you can recreate their style for less.

From Danish royalty in Princess Mary to acting superstar, Margot Robbie, model, Jennifer Hawkins, and more, there’s plenty of inspiration.

And with a Royal wedding on the cards this year, couldn’t we all be doing with a little bit more white in our lives…

According to data from search engine marketing solutions provider, SEMrush, white dresses have proven to be the dark horse of fashion in 2018, with searches from 8,000 of the most trafficked global e-commerce sites analysed in the recent annual study.

And it’s certainly a favourite among celebrities with the likes of David Jones ambassador and model, Victoria Lee, plumping for a LWD (little white dress) to the show on Wednesday evening.

Meanwhile, the likes of fellow Aussies, Jennifer Hawkins and Jesinta Campbell, have also both opted for white dresses at the Races late last year.

Over on the high street, it’s easy to get your hands on a well-priced white option.

Online store, The Iconic, have plenty of pretty choices – including an off-the-shoulder style for AUD $119 – which perfectly taps into Jennifer Hawkins’ whimsical Oaks Day style.

Never one to miss a trend, fashion website, ASOS, have also got in on the little white dress action. 

Type white dress into their website and you’ll be greeted with just under 1,000 results, including one dress which retails for just $16 – and bears an uncanny resemblance to something worn by Kim Kardashian.

For those looking for a little regal glamour, there is also a $35 maxi dress, which is a perfect doppelganger for an outfit worn by the ‘world’s most beautiful royal’, Lady Amelia Windsor, to a Christian Dior show.

Elsewhere, Australian label, Kookai, are big fans of the all-white trend.

Their Santiago dress, which retails for $100, is a good substitute for model, Victoria Lee’s David Jones style.

Sabo Skirt also have countless dresses under the $100 mark, while over on Showpo, there is a gorgeous laser-cut lace dress for $89.95 – which looks a lot like the Temperley style Denmark’s Princess Mary wore in Japan in 2017. 

While the white dress did take out the top spot in the rankings, SEMrush found black, red, yellow and gold to be the next most popular colours searched for online.
