The Mandalorian Season 2 set photos revealed as filming continues in Los Angeles

Disney Plus has recently started production on Season 2 of The Mandalorian, with new photos surfacing from the set in Los Angeles on Monday.

The photos reveal the title character partially unmasked between scenes, though it isn’t known if it’s star Pedro Pascal or a stunt double, since the mask is only partially lifted above his head and the person is wearing a black head mask.

Also spotted on the set was a crew member carrying a Stormtrooper dummy, though other shots revealed a slight spoiler for the new season, so read on at your own risk.

Production: Disney Plus has recently started production on Season 2 of The Mandalorian, with new photos surfacing from the set in Los Angeles on Monday

It is established in the first episode of The Mandalorian, which debuted with the Disney Plus launch on November 12, that the title character’s armor is made from a material known as Beskar Steel.

A mysterious character known only as The Client (Werner Herzog) gives him a brick of Beskar Steel, with the promise of another upon the completion of his mission.

The brick he was given was melted and molded into a pauldron that covers his shoulder, and in these new photos he’s seen with both shoulder pauldrons.

At the end of the series premiere, it is revealed that the ‘package’ is actually what has come to be known as ‘Baby Yoda,’ though it is not know what connection, if any, this 50 year old ‘infant’ has to the Yoda from the original Star Wars movie trilogy.

Given the sight of the second Beskar Steel pauldron on The Mandalorian’s shoulder, it seems clear that the title character completed his mission.

There was a condition of the bounty that would have allowed The Mandalorian, and the robot bounty hunter IG-11 (Taika Waititi) to bring Baby Yoda in dead for a reduced bounty.
