The Project’s Meshel Laurie left furious after she was forced to cancel idyllic Bali getaway

Meshel Laurie is usually all smiles when she appears on Channel Ten’s light-hearted current affairs program, The Project.

But the 42-year-old was not happy after she was left stranded at the airport after the eruption of Mt. Agung in Bali.

On Friday, Meshel couldn’t hide her annoyance at the cancellation of her idyllic tropical getaway, and appeared on the show via a cross.

Speaking to The Project from a terminal departure gate, the stand-up comedian appeared to be fuming while standing with her young child.

‘Mother nature doesn’t seem to like the school holidays,’ she started, looking comfortable in a black pullover and her hair pulled back with a hairband.

‘Can’t you just explode at schoolies instead?…What have you got against families, Bali exploding mountains?’

Despite her annoyance at the natural disaster, The Project co-host Anthony Lehmann was quick to have a laugh at his holiday-less side-kick.

During the segment, the TV hosts interviewed a holiday-maker Katie Dower stranded in Bali, whose flight was cancelled.

With a tongue-in-cheek moment, host Waleed Aly asked if she would be on the next plane home following once flights resumed.

The tourist then revealed that Meshel had actually offered her the use of her luxurious accommodation.

‘A lovely friend of mine, Meshel Laurie, who is usually on your desk has offered her villa for next week,’ Katie said, admitting she was back in holiday mode.

Finishing the segment, co-host Anthony Lehmann asked if it was all just a conspiracy and all of the Australians got together to create “fake news,” just to the recent cold snap Down Under.

Daily Mail Australia has contacted Meshel for comment in relation to this story.
