Love Island’s Olivia Attwood looked chic in a beige coat and thigh-high boots alongside co-star Chris Hughes who looked dapper in a royal blue suit.

Her Majesty is famous for her love of horses and first found herself in the saddle at the age of four after being presented with a Shetland pony, named Peggy.

Since then the royal stables have been home to a succession of steeds, among them Betsy, a black farm-bred horse who was her mount of choice in the 50’s, and Surprise, a grey gelding whom the Queen famously galloped down the course at Ascot in 1961.

Recent years have seen her cut down on the amount of time she spends in the saddle but she still takes a keen interest in all her horses and ponies.

She also remains a familiar sight at the Windsor Castle stables and regularly rides in the park, often accompanied by Mr Pendry.

And Her Majesty is so determined to keep them in tip-top condition that it was revealed last month she is spending £130,000 on the UK’s largest automatic horse-walker at her stud farm in Sandringham.

The device – a treadmill for horses – will allow just one member of staff to exercise up to 18 horses at the same time on a 330ft-long oval-shaped enclosed track.

The yard’s existing walker can accommodate only six horses.

The treadmill is divided into compartments that individual horses can be put into.

Barriers hang from an overhead rail and move at a selected speed, forcing horses to walk or trot to keep pace so that they exercise themselves without carrying riders.
