An armed robber was left running for the door after a botched attempt to steal from a pizzeria in Auckland.
The man rather impolitely shouted ‘give me the f****** money’ after entering Lena Urban Eatery, brandishing a large knife.
But he quickly turned on his heels when he saw chef Vaughn Wilkinson coming out of the kitchen holding two much larger knives.
A chef proved he was no coward when he fended off a knife-wielding burglar who entered his restaurant
The armed burglar stormed Lena Urban Eatery in Sandringham late in the evening on Saturday, November 10
Mr Wilkinson rushed at the man who fled the premises. the NZ Herald reported.
The amusing incident was caught on the restaurant’s CCTV camera.
Vaughn Wilkinson uploaded the impressive CCTV footage of the thwarted robbery to Facebook, with the simple caption: ‘Never try to rob a chef.’
