The shocking moment a thug carjacks a woman donating clothes at a charity bin, knocking her down

Security cameras have captured the moment a man brazenly carjacked a woman’s Mercedes while she was donating goods to charity, knocking her down in the street.

The woman was dropping off clothes at a donation bin in Arundel, north of the Gold Coast, at about 4:30pm on Wednesday when the thug casually jumped into the driver’s seat of her idling car.

Footage shows that the woman ran to the front of the vehicle and attempted to wrestle the man out from behind the wheel as onlookers gathered and pulled over in the street.

Moments later, the driver put the car into gear and abruptly sped off, mowing down the 53-year-old woman as he fled the scene.

A woman who lives in the area said the incident has caused her to question whether or not it is safe to go outside.

‘Here you are trying to do some charity and do some good things and you hear these things happening, it’s not very good,’ the local told The Today Show.

‘You want to turn the engine off and lock the doors, but gee, you can’t even walk out the front door anymore.’

The robbery occurred after the woman left her car running as she dropped clothes at the charity bin.

‘A man walking along the street jumped into the vehicle while it was unattended and drove off,’ Queensland Police told Daily Mail Australia.

‘The woman did not receive any physical injuries as a result of the incident but was treated for shock at the scene.’
