Carolina used a rectangular container to match the shape of the loaf of bread perfectly.

The store-bought bread was also kept inside the bag for added convenience, though some online questioned this method.

‘Why keep the bread bag inside?’ one person asked, and another responded with: ‘You can pull the edges of the bag and it will lever the bread upwards to grab a slice and not put your entire hand in the container.’

‘We need this, our bread is always off in like two days,’ another woman wrote and tagged her husband.

The convenient hack will ensure the bread doesn’t go off too quickly.

After four days the video received more than 24,000 ‘likes’ from thousands of social media users.

According to Heathline, store-bought bread can last up to seven days if stored at room temperature while homemade bread often only lasts up to five days.

In warmer climates, the bread can also be placed in the fridge to last longer.

How long does bread last?

The shelf life of bread kept at room temperature ranges from 3 to 7 days but may vary depending on ingredients, type of bread, and storage method.

Typically made from wheat (or alternative grains), yeast, and other ingredients, bread stays fresh for only a short period before it starts to go bad.

It may even grow mould and become unsafe to eat, so it’s helpful to know how to keep it fresh for as long as possible.

Gluten-free bread is more susceptible to mould due to its higher moisture content and limited use of preservatives.
