Beau Ryan spent a few months travelling around Australia while filming Channel 10’s second season of The Amazing Race late last year.

And on Monday, the 35-year-old revealed the eye-watering six-figure sum he earned for hosting the popular show.

During an interview on KIIS FM’s Kyle and Jackie O radio show, the former NRL star revealed he was paid $800,000 to participate in the Channel 10 program.

‘When you are getting paid for something, you look at the hours… How long are we working here?,’ he explained.

Radio host Kyle Sandilands then asked: ‘Is that what you do? Do you look at that with the Amazing Race and consider how long [you’re away for]?’

‘Yeah… [I was away] for two and half to three months and I got paid $800,000,’ Beau  revealed.

It comes after Beau revealed he was genuinely scared for his life during some of the challenges on the Amazing Race.

Speaking to The Daily Telegraph last month, he said production staff ‘tested a lot of the challenges’ before contestants did them.

Before he took the plunge – Beau made farewell videos for his wife and children, just in case something went wrong, especially on challenges involving heights.

‘We had a social phone we used to record stuff to put out on TenPlay and social media before we do some of the challenges.

‘And I always did a farewell piece to camera for my wife and kids, like if something did happen to me and I didn’t survive the abseil or the cliff dive,’ he said.

He added: ‘But I was doing these challenges every second day so there were about 50 farewell videos all up. Lucky for me I didn’t have to use them.’
