‘These are my three inexpensive laundry hacks that really work,’ Chantel posted on Instagram.

The first trick the mum swears by ensures she always puts her sheets on the right way on the bed.

‘Save time on your sheets by making sure the fitted sheets tags always go on the bottom right hand corner,’ Chantel said.

The second thing you can do to avoid wrinkles and crinkles on your bedding is spray ‘tap water from a spray bottle as you tuck the sheets to remove the need for ironing’.

The idea is to dampen the sheet slightly, rather than soak it, and the reason why this works is because the combination of the water and the tension from the sheets being stretched works as a DIY steamer.

Run your hand firmly across the creases, smoothing them out and then leave the sheet to dry before putting your bedding back on top.

Finally, Chantel said she always ‘fluffs’ her pillows in the dryer with a tennis ball for five minutes.

When pillows are placed in the dryer on their own, the materials inside can clump up and cause your pillow to become flat.

On the other hand, when you put a tennis ball inside, the tennis balls hit and fluff the pillow while it dries.

More than 8,000 people who saw Chantel’s video said they would try her tricks in their own homes.

‘Love these hacks, thank you so much for sharing,’ one commenter wrote.

‘Wow the water trick is a game-changer. And who knew about the tags?’ another added.
