The Today show’s Karl Stefanovic owns shares in luxury Indonesian beach club Mrs Sippy

He lives the jet-setting lifestyle, taking six weeks of holidays away from his TV hosting responsibilities at Nine so far this year.

And Today host Karl Stefanovic has revealed he has shares in luxury beach club, Mrs Sippy, in Bali’s tourist hotspot of Seminyak.

Chatting to KIIS 101.1’s Jase & PJ on Wednesday, Karl raved about his investment in the swanky Indonesian establishment, which is owned by the founders of Sydney’s Double Bay venue by the same name.

Host Jason ‘Jase’ Hawkins brought up the beach club, after he had shared a private conversation with Karl about it, with the TV star joking: ‘That was again something I was keeping under the radar.’

Deciding to divulge further information, he confirmed: ‘Yeah, it is in Bali. It’s called Mrs Sippy. It’s an unreal bar.’

The impressive beachside location includes a pool club, restaurant and bar.

Its most outstanding feature is the 800-metre saltwater swimming pool, which is the island’s largest lagoon pool.

The beach club’s unique addition of an angular, chalk-white diving board lodged in sandstone floating above the pool makes for Instagram gold for holiday makers.

Karl joked about the feature during the chat: ‘The great thing is they have a dive platform wand you can go and watch drunk Aussies total themselves of a 10-metre platform.’

The pool is also surrounded by a man-made beach, speckled with whitewashed day beds, umbrellas, cabanas and swaying palm trees.

During the day, bikini-and-speedo-clad travelers soak up the sun by the pool, and by night they party at glamorous poolside events with disco lights and international DJs.

The venue also hosts a 600-seat restaurant with low-slung tables and a five-metre Jimbaran-style grill. On the menu are items such as, wood-fired pizzas, burgers and fresh seafood.

Karl admitted he hasn’t been to the Bali beach club as frequently as he would like: ‘I haven’t been over for a long time, I do love Bali though.’

As of May, Karl had been absent from the Today show for six weeks, out of the 16 the breakfast show had aired in 2018.

While Karl’s net worth has been rumoured as $10 million, it has not been confirmed, but he is considered to be one of the highest-paid stars on Australian television. The Today show host’s salary garnered a lot of media attention after Lisa Wilkinson quit after a reported lack of pay parity with Karl.

According to news.com.au, Karl earned at least AU$2 million a year with a bonus that could take his salary up to just below AU$3 million if ratings targets were hit. Lisa was reported to have been on a contract worth $1.1 million a year before her departure from the show.
