The Undertaker wants Conor McGregor to make the switch to wrestling when his UFC career is over

‘He has it written all over him’: WWE legend The Undertaker wants Conor McGregor to make the switch to wrestling when his UFC career is over, insisting the Irishman would be ‘the ultimate heel’ in the company

  • WWE and UFC are now under the same umbrella making a crossover possible
  • The Undertaker backed McGregor to succeed with his charisma and ability
  • The Irishman will make his UFC return later this year after two years out injured

WWE legend The Undertaker is keen to see Conor McGregor inside a wrestling ring in the near future.

McGregor remains one of the biggest named in combat sport and is set to make his UFC return later this year after two years away from the ring following a double leg break.

He fractured his tibia and fibula in the opening round of his trilogy match against Dustin Poirier in 2021, and has been absent from the sport since with many wondering whether one of the most popular stars of all time would ever return.

Despite the fact his comeback is on the horizon, it’s possible McGregor will hang up his gloves relatively soon, with the 34-year-old potentially past his prime and having won all there is to win in the sport.

And speaking to The Independent, The Undertaker backed the Irishman to join the WWE and be one of the company’s biggest stars when he’s done with the UFC.

‘It’s pretty easy to figure out,’ he said when asked about any UFC sportspeople joining the company. ‘That would have to be Conor McGregor.

‘He has WWE written all over him. He would be the ultimate heel and that would be kind of fun.’

WWE was recently bought by Endeavor Group Holdings, who purchased 51 per cent of the company and also own the UFC.

There have been several suggestions that the two company’s could cross paths in the future, though that’s yet to happen with the two entities remaining separate since the takeover earlier this year.

Several stars have made the jump from MMA to WWE before though, including Ken Shamrock, Shayna Baszler and Ronda Rousey – the latter two being the current women’s tag team champions.

Other stars to have participated in both sections of the combat game include CM Punk – who is set to make his AEW return later this month – and Brock Lesnar, who has been a world champion in both companies.

McGregor would be by far the biggest star to do so, however, though that seems some way away yet.
