The first tip of using two extra eggs will help create structure and stability within the batter and add moisture to cakes.

The second tip of replacing oil with melted butter and doubling the amount would work well for a range of desserts, including cakes, pastries and cookies, to add extra flavour.

The experts recommended using Lurpak Slightly Salted Butter or Western Star Original Salted Butter as both taste the best compared to other brands in Australia.

Another person on Facebook also recommended adding in a few drops of vanilla essence.

The mum also recommended replacing water with an equal amount of milk for extra creaminess.

‘Flavoured milks work great in these too and some juices,’ another person said online, but the suggestion of using juice seemed odd to some.

‘Vanilla cake mix with orange juice and a little zest. Orange cake that tastes so good!’ another agreed.

A third added: ‘I made it with Dare white choc mocha milk the other day. Beautiful.’

The final tip of following the recipe method directly is an essential tactic when baking, as over baking may result in a dense cake or a dry texture.
