The View’s Ana Navarro answers back to claims she’s been using Ozempic to aid in her weight loss journey

Ana Navarro spoke about her weight loss journey in an Instagram post Sunday when she was asked by a follower if she was using the medication Ozempic.

The View personality, 51, posted a shot of herself in a black gown during a weekend trip to Ciudad Amurallada, Cartagena, Colombia, noting that she had gone there to celebrate the birthday of her friend Lee Schrager.

‘When your best friend is @leeschrager and he tells you he wants a getaway weekend for his birthday, you say, “tell me where and when, and I’ll be there,”‘ Navarro captioned the social media post. ‘He got his three best friends to drop everything and come to Cartagena to celebrate.’

In response, a commenter implied that the political strategist had been using the medication to aid her weight loss.

‘When are you coming clean that you are in Ozempic?’ the commenter asked. ‘It will help others. It works. It’s the real deal. It provides the will power needed to stop over eating. It obviously corrects an insulin imbalance we must have.’

The Chinandega, Nicaragua-born TV personality replied that she’s ‘posted about [her] weight-loss journey many times,’ going into detail about the latest measures she’s taken in recent years.

Navarro, who was involved with 2008 presidential campaign of late Sen. John McCain, said, ‘I’ve struggled with my weight my entire life,’ adding that ‘the pandemic and menopause made it worse.’

Navarro said that her mother’s 2021 death as result of kidney disease brought on by diabetes – ‘She suffered terribly the last years of her life,’ she said – spurred her to get proactive in her quest for better health.

‘Last August, I went to a wellness spa in Mexico called @rancholapuerta with two of my friends since grade school,’ Navarro said. ‘We had all turned 50 and wanted to be healthier. I spent time there learning to cook and eat healthier, reprogramming the way I think of my lifestyle, and being more active.

‘We did all sorts of exercise classes for hours a day.’

Navarro said that when she and her friends returned to Miami, they ‘were determined to continue some of our healthy habits.’

Navarro said she ‘also sought professional help’ in the form of a nutritionist, Pilates coach, pickleball coach and medical supervision.

She said she has shed between four to five pounds monthly while on her weight loss journey.

‘It’s been a complete lifestyle change – except for the damn rosé and margaritas, which I can’t give up,’ Navarro said.

The CNN personality said that she is ‘not equipped to give anyone advice or endorse any solution,’ as ‘we all have to figure out what works for each us.’

She wrapped up in saying, ‘It is a daily struggle for me. I still really like tequila and staying in bed with my poodle…’ with a shrug emoji.
