The Voice: Two-time defending champion Kelly Clarkson boldly states that she feels ‘three-peat’

Kelly Clarkson boldly predicted Monday that she would win The Voice for a third straight season.

The 37-year-old American Idol winner was feeling confident ahead of the biggest elimination of the season.

‘I feel a three-peat,’ Kelly declared before her team members performed.

The two-hour episode featured performances from the top 24 singers remaining on season 16 of the NBC show.

Blake Shelton, 42, went into the round with eight singers on his team, while John Legend, 40, and Kelly each had six singers.

Adam Levine, 40, had four singers remaining in the competition.

The Voice host Carson Daly, 45, told viewers that half of the singers would be eliminated based on viewer voting during Tuesday’s results episode.

A 13th singer will be joining them after Tuesday via the Comeback Stage for artists eliminated earlier in the competition.

Kelly’s team was up first and the pop star said she advised her team members to ‘just be yourself’.

The Voice will return Wednesday with Kelly performing and Adam joining his team for the first time.

Kelly won season 15 of The Voice last year with with Chevel Shepherd, 16, and also was victorious in season 14 during her debut as a coach with Brynn Cartelli, 16.
