The Walking Dead: Negan sparks bloody uprising while facing firing squad at Commonwealth labor camp

Negan sparked a bloody uprising at the prison labor camp after the camp warden ordered his death by firing squad on Sunday’s episode of The Walking Dead on AMC.

The season 11 episode titled Faith opened with Negan [Jeffrey Dean Morgan], his pregnant wife Annie [Medina Senghore], Juanita ‘Princess’ Sanchez [Paola Lazaro], Kelly [Angel Theory], Ezekiel [Khary Payton] and Magna [Nadia Hiker], being kept prisoners at the Commonwealth labor camp.

Negan and the others were doing hard labor. When he saw his pregnant wife Annie struggling he tried to convince a stormtrooper to go easy on her.

‘The Commonwealth doesn’t make deals,’ the trooper said.

Another trooper approached and said they needed to remind Negan of his place and knocked Negan to the ground. Annie tried to intervene but a trooper carried her away.

Outside the camp, Daryl Dixon [Norman Reedus] and Carol Peletier [Melissa McBride] watched what was happening through binoculars and hatched a plan to go in and save their friends.

In another part of the forest, Lydia [Cassady McClincy], Elijah [Okea Eme-Akwari], Aaron [Ross Marquand] and Jerry [ Cooper Andrews] made their way through the woods. Lydia stabbed a walker in the head but Elijah told her to be careful that it could have been a climber, a new kind of mutated zombie variant.

‘Everyone needs to stay alert,’ Aaron said. ‘We don’t know if that was a one-time thing or not.’

Suddenly, Luke [Dan Fogler] and Jules [Alex Sgambati] appeared and they all hugged.

‘What a pleasant surprise,’ Aaron said.

Jerry told them they were headed back to Oceanside but Luke told him it had been taken over by the Commonwealth.

‘It’s gone, man,’ Luke said.

Luke and Jules said the stormtroopers were tracking them.

‘I suggest we get as far away from Oceanside as humanly possible,’ Luke said.

Troopers approached them at the same time as a group of walkers. To escape the troopers, Lydia and the others blended in with the walkers. Lydia dropped her knife and one of the variant walkers reached down and picked it up.

Back at Commonwealth, Eugene Porter [Josh McDermitt] was on trial for Sebastian Milton’s murder. His mother Commonwealth governor Pamela Milton [Laila Robins] took the stand demanding that Eugene be forced to pay for what he did.

‘You killed my boy,’ Pamela said crying. ‘This murderer needs to pay!’

Yumiko Okumura [ Eleanor Matsuura], who was serving as Eugene’s lawyer, objected. A crowd watched the trial from the courtroom. Yumiko whispered to Eugene that they needed to concentrate on convincing the onlookers and not the judge.

With Pamela on the stand, Yumiko questioned her on the Commonwealth’s lottery and whether it was fixed.

Yumiko reminded her that her son was on tape making that statement. Pamela denied that her son actually said that.

‘The tape was altered,’ Pamela said.

Maggie [Lauren Cohan], Gabriel Stokes [Seth Gilliam], Rosita Espinosa [Christian Serratos], Carol and Connie discussed how they could rescue the others at the labor camp. They also realized that only the adults were at the camp and not the children. The group split up to try to find a way inside.

Inside the labor camp, Negan and Ezekiel tried to talk to Tyler about helping them escape. Tyler said they tried that before but it never worked.

Troopers walked in and grabbed Negan and took him to the camp Warden [Michael Weaver] who showed him a piece of paper.

‘Someone is keeping track of my guards,’ the Warden said.

‘What’s that got to do with me?’ Negan said.

The Warden instructed him to find out who was keeping track if he ever wanted to see Annie. A trooper then brought Negan to see Annie.

‘We are going to get out of here,’ Annie told Negan.

‘I am going to meet this baby and so are you,’ Annie said.

Meanwhile, Daryl and Connie lowered themselves down in the camp’s sewer system. Carol and Maggie also had made it inside the camp through another sewer.

Yumiko and Max visited Eugene at his cell. Yumiko urged Max to help get her brother Commonwealth military commander Mercer [Michael James Shaw] to help them.

‘We are going to lose, I know that,’ Yumiko said. ‘My friend, the man who your sister loves, is going to die.’

Yumiko pleaded with Mercer to testify against Pamela in public.

‘Doing what you’re asking won’t change a thing,’ Mercer said.

Maggie and Carol entered a house at the labor camp. Maggie worried about finding her son Hershel.

‘You always try to make the world better because of him and for him,’ Carol said. ‘You’ve got to find him. We will.’

Ezekiel told Negan that he didn’t deserve to be a father. Negan went to see the warden.

‘So you got a name for me?’ the Warden said.

Daryl and Connie worked their way through the sewer killing walkers.

Back in the courtroom, Eugene told the judge he wanted to speak on his own behalf. Eugene said he wouldn’t have made it this far if not for the help of friends.

‘In my own little way, I changed the world,’ Eugene said. ‘And sometimes all it takes is one person to do that.’

Eugene was found guilty of murder in the first degree and sentenced to public execution in one hour. The crowd screamed and Pamela walked off smiling. Max stared at her brother in shock.

At the labor camp, the guards ordered everyone outside. The warden declared that there was a traitor in the camp. Negan, he said, had admitted to attempting to spearhead a rebellion and would be executed.

Annie ran over and Negan told her loved her.

‘Get him on his knees,’ the Warden said.

The troopers formed a firing squad. When Negan smiled, the Warden grabbed Annie and made her join him.

‘There are no martyrs here,’ the warden said.

‘That wasn’t our deal!’ Negan screamed. ‘No! You take me. Just me!’

Negan pleaded with one of the troopers not to shoot.

Ezekiel then walked up with his hands in the air and stood in front of Negan and Annie. The other prisoners joined him.

‘I admire your bravery, prisoners,’ the warden said. ‘Shoot them all.’

‘You don’t have to do this,’ Ezekiel said. ‘This world is broken but we don’t have to be.’

Guard 197 turned his gun on the warden. The warden grabbed Kelly and held her at gunpoint backing up until Daryl stabbed him from behind.

Maggie and Carole made their way through the house and rescued Hershel. Rosita searched for her daughter Coco.

Negan was about to kill the warden when Rosita rushed over and demanded to first know what happened to her daughter Coco.

‘Where is she?’ Rosita demanded and then unleashed a zombie on him when he wouldn’t talk.

Eugene was taken from his cell to be executed with a bag over his head by troopers. Mercer met them and took the bag off.

The Walking Dead will return next week on AMC for its penultimate episode ahead of the series finale on November 20.
