The White Lotus: Ethan fears Cameron and his wife Harper are fooling around behind his back

Ethan (Will Sharpe) confronts his friend Cameron (Theo James) about being in his and his wife Harper’s (Aubrey Plaza) room… and possibly cheating… in the penultimate episode of The White Lotus Season 2.

Cameron has behaved oddly around Harper the entire season, including changing in front of her, grabbing her legs underwater and rubbing her legs under the table during last week’s episode… but they both disappear when Ethan is swimming in this week’s episode, titled Abductions, leading Ethan to think that they started an affair.

Meanwhile, Tanya McQuoid (Jennifer Coolidge) tries to warn her assistant Portia (Haley Lu Richardson) about her new fling Jack (Leo Woodall)… after discovering him having sex with his uncle Quentin (Tom Hollander).

The episode begins with the employees of The White Lotus getting ready for a new day, while Albie (Adam DiMarco) has sex with Lucia (Simona Tabasco).

Harper wakes up and finds Ethan on the chair, distraught, telling her straight up that she doesn’t believe him that he didn’t have sex with the prostitutes.

‘I feel like you don’t believe me. It’s starting to drive me crazy. It’s not fair that you don’t believe me. When have I ever lied to you?’ Ethan says.

‘I believe you,’ Harper says but Ethan says, ‘Obviously, you don’t. Or you wouldn’t be acting like this. We’ve always been honest with each other. So, just… Give me a break.’

She insists, ‘No, we haven’t. I mean, we’re not honest about… About how we’re not attracted to each other… -Anymore. Or at least you’re not attracted to me, you know? It’s, like, I get it you’re on top of the world right now. -You could sleep with …Whoever you want, and you’re stuck with me and…’

‘I didn’t have sex with an Italian hooker. Jesus, f**k!’ he adds, but she says, ‘I’m just saying that it’s not the cheating -that bothers me so much…’

She adds, ‘Maybe something has died. We are too young to be this old, Ethan. I’m sure you don’t want that part of your life to be over. Do you?’

He says he doesn’t but he’s dealing with a lot, adding, ‘Work’s been insane. And… Okay. I don’t know. We can work on it. We can work on it, okay?’

Harper asks, ‘Do even want me?’ and Ethan says he loves her but she says that’s ‘depressing.’

Back in Cameron and Daphne’s (Meghann Fahy) room, Daphne says, ‘You know, she’s pretty convinced you guys did something bad -when we were in Noto.

She asks again what they did while they were in Nodo and he insists they just partied hard.

He says, ‘You abandoned me. And now, you must pay,’ adding, ‘What about you? You f**k anyone in Noto? Any fat Italian guys with Bo and a dirty dick?’

She laughs and says, ‘Every single one’ as they start kissing in bed.

Tanya meets up with Portia, who asks how the opera was and Tanya asks Portia how her night with Jack was.

‘It was fun. Yeah. We almost got arrested. We didn’t pay for our arancini. So, yeah,’ as Tanya tells her, ‘Arancinis cost a dollar.’

‘Maybe you should slow down with this guy,’ Tanya tells Portia, adding, ‘Something about his relationship with his uncle. I don’t think it’s his uncle.

Portia insists Quentin is Jack’s uncle, as Tanya adds, ‘It was just a strong hunch.’

‘When I see you, I– I see a younger version of me. You know, when I was a little girl, my mother used to dress me up like a little doll. And I was always a little doll, waiting for someone to play with me. You know, when you’re empty inside and you have no direction, you’ll end up in some crazy places, right? But you’ll still be lost,’ Tanya says.

Portia asks, ‘What are you trying to say?’ and Tanya responds, ‘Get your s**t together, Portia,’ when Quentin arrives.

He asks how she slept and Tanya says, ‘Not good, there were some strange noises in the night,’ as Quentin says she needs to be refreshed because she is the ‘guest of honor.’

Albie tells Dom and Bert at breakfast that he found a ‘translator’ for their trip to find their ancestors.

Meanwhile, Lucia and Mia go ask Valentina if there was an envelope left at the front desk for her, but there wasn’t.

Lucia sees Ethan walking past and tracks him down, saying that they haven’t been paid, and Ethan insists he’ll sort it out… but Harper sees Will talking with them.

Back at breakfast, Harper tells Ethan she saw him talking with the hookers and he promises he’ll explain but doesn’t want to talk about it now, as Harper says she’s already, ‘over it.’

Portia is walking around the estate and Jack sneaks up and scares her, asking if she wants to take a drive.

‘We’ll go down to Cefalù, we’ll drink some Peronis, eat some ice cream. What do you think?’ Jack asks as Portia agrees, adding, ‘I’m down for anything. I just wanna be back for the party thing later.’

Bert and Dom are waiting by the car as Bert tells Dom it would be ‘incredible if we actually found some distant relatives.’

Albie comes with the translator, who is, of course, Lucia, as Dom is clearly uncomfortable but Bert tells him to ‘be cool.’

Down at the beach, Daphne gets the last massage as Cameron wants to get drinks but Ethan passes… though Harper surprisingly joins him.

Portia asks Jack if he has any ‘goals’ and he says he just has to, ‘live every day as it comes,’ adding, ‘We don’t even know if we’ll be here tomorrow.’

Portia says the world is ‘falling apart’ but Jack asks, ‘what’s wrong with it.’

‘You’d rather live in the Middle Ages then, would Ya? When they were ripping each other to shreds, yeah? They were way worse than ISIS or any of them lot. Like, it’s a fucking miracle anyone’s even left in Europe. All we’ve been doing is just f***in’ hacking each other to bits and burning each other at the stake,’ Jack says.

‘All I’m saying is, right, we’re f***ing lucky, do you know what I mean? Like, we’re living in the… Best time in the history of the world, on the best fucking planet. If you can’t be satisfied living now, here… You’re never gonna be satisfied. So, let’s get pissed, eh?’ he adds.

Back at the beach, Will looks up at the patio bar and sees Cameron getting close with Harper, as he heads out into the sea for a swim.

He takes a last look up at the bar before going swimming out further.

The Di Grasso’s find the town their ancestors are from as Adam tells them there is a Di Grasso family still living there and she knows them, giving them the address.

Lucia is worried that her supposed pimp Alessio has followed them as they get in and drive, and Alessio and another man follows them.

Adam says there are some guys Lucia knows that are following them, which makes Dom and Bert nervous as they close in.

Lucia tells them to pull over as Dom stops the car. Lucia gets out and starts arguing with Alessio.

When it starts getting physical, Albie and Dom get out as Lucia says she’s going with Alessio.

Albie asks if they want to call the police but Dom says he won’t let that happen.

Lucia insists she’s fine and doesn’t want to ruin their day as she says she’ll meet them for dinner tonight.

Bert gets out and yells, ‘Don’t go with him,’ but it’s too late as they take off.

Ethan comes back to shore and dries off with a towel, but when he looks back up at the patio bar, Cameron and Harper are both gone, which angers Ethan.

He checks his phone and finds a text from Harper that says, ‘Went to room to get my hat.’

Ethan goes up to the room and finds she latched the door shut and pounds on the door, as Harper tells him to wait a minute.

She finally answers the door and she says she was getting burned so she went up to get her hat, but Ethan doesn’t believe her.

‘Since when is latching the door your habit?’ as Harper responds, ‘I had a tequila shot at the bar, I wasn’t really thinking.

Ethan finds the connecting door to Cameron and Daphne’s room and asks why it was open and asks if Cameron was in there.

Harper says he wasn’t and says he was in his room because he had to get something too and Harper wants to go back down.

They leave when Cameron comes out of his room, saying, ‘Came to get my book. Come on. Are you coming?’

The Di Grasso’s get to the address and find two women as they try to explain they’re their cousins.

Bert goes and talks to the matriarch and tries to explain, but she yells at them and tells them to go, as they leave dejected.

Back at the beach, Harper is chatting with Cameron while Ethan stews on the beach, as Harper asks Ethan to try this drink.

Ethan asks why Harper is in such a good mood, and Harper confirms that Cameron confirmed everything Ethan had told her… when Daphne comes back and starts telling them about her massage.

Portia shares a meal and drinks with Jack, as Portia asks if they should head back to the house soon because the party might be starting but Jack insists the parties start late and finish late so they’re good.

Back at the Palermo estate, Tanya gets ready in a salmon gown as Quentin insists she looks stunning.

He adds that he has found, ‘the perfect arm candy for you tonight,’ adding he’s the ‘sexiest heterosexual in Palermo,’ adding that Niccolo is, ‘notoriously well-hung.’

He adds that he may have ties to an influential family but when Tanya asks if he’s mafia, Quentin says they don’t say that word in Palermo.

They head down to the party and Quentin introduces Tanya to Niccolo, who says it’s nice to meet her.

Quentin asks if she’d like a little ‘pick-me-up’ and presents a tray of cocaine, as Tanya says she hasn’t tried that in a long time.

She does a bump and tells Niccolo that she loves his pupils as he says they’ll have fun tonight, caressing her face.

Back at the White Lotus, Valentina gets ready for her birthday date, of sorts, with Isabella.

Isabella tells Valentina that Salvatore has been flirting with her quite a bit and asks if she’d send Rocco back to the front desk.

‘I said Rocco because… he’s my boyfriend,’ which stuns Valentina, as Isabella reveals they just got engaged.

Isabella asks if she could bring Rocco back, insisting they’ll keep their distance but Valentina says she has to think about it.

Isabella asks if she’s ready to go but Valentina says she suddenly has a headache and bails on their plans, as a heartbroken Valentina watches Isabella leave.

Cameron and Ethan are at dinner, as Cameron confirms that he told Harper everything.

Ethan asks if Cameron were in their room earlier today but Cameron insists, ‘No, of course not,’ but Ethan says he knows he got naked in front of her.

‘Were you in our fucking room, man? Just tell me the truth,’ Ethan says before Daphne and Harper arrive and they drop it.

A dejected Valentina sits at the bar and asks the bartender for a Martinia, while Mia starts singing at the piano.

Bert and Dom and Albie are at dinner, when Bert gets emotional about the lack of a homecoming that he was expecting.

‘You always think there’s gonna be a homecoming. The embrace of a woman… Who tells you you’ve done all right. Well, there is no homecoming. Not for me, not anymore,’ Bert says sniffling, saying he’s not very hungry and he’s going to have a drink at the lounge.

He sits down and watches Mia play the piano and sing, applauding as she finishes her song.

‘You know, you’re really very good. Well, you’re better than the last guy. He was… Terrible,’ as Mia chuckles and says, ‘Well, I have one fan.’

Back in Palermo, Tanya tells Niccolo she’s having a blast as they do more cocaine and she finds a gun in his bag as he says he always carries it with him as they start making out while the party continues.

Albie is in his room when Lucia comes to her door, quite sad, as Albie lets her in.

Back at the bar, Mia finds Valentina at the bar, saying it’s her birthday as Mia says she should be at a lesbian bar finding a hot girl.

Valentina confesses that she’s never been with a woman, as Mia says even she’s been with a woman.

‘But you like women, yes? Why haven’t you been with one,’ but Valentina can’t answer.

Mia says she wants to give her a gift and tries to kiss her but Valentina says not here as Mia says she surely knows what rooms are empty.

Valentina says there’s an empty room on the second floor and hands her a master key.

Meanwhile, Albie and Lucia are on the beach, as Lucia says her pimp wants to control her and won’t let her go.

Albie asks what it would take for him to let her go and she says it’s all about money but it’s not his problem.

She gets close to Albie and tells him he’s kind, adding, ‘I wish all men were like you,’ before they start kissing.

Back in the empty suite, Lucia comes out, singing Happy Birthday a la Marilyn Monroe, pushing her on the bed and climbing on top of her and kissing her.

A tipsy Jack and Portia finally leave the bar and he bumps into a man and almost starts a fight.

Portia wants to go back to the party but Jack says he’s too drunk to drive and wants to get a hotel so they can start their own party, which clearly doesn’t please Portia as Jack drunkenly starts singing.

Mia is guiding a very nervous Valentina in bed while Ethan plays out what he thinks happened with Harper and Cameron before she lets him in the room.

Harper comes out of the bathroom and asks if he wants an Ambien but he says no as she gets in bed.

Ethan quietly gets in bed as they cut back to the party in Palermo as Tanya and Niccolo find a private room and keep making out.

Niccolo heads into another room, leaving a buzzed Tanya to wander around the estate, finding a number of framed photos.

She picks up one framed photo before she finds a naked Niccolo standing before her and Tanya tells her she’s  ‘so nervous.’

He smiles and tells her to sit down, as she says he’s ‘really handsome’ as he strokes her face and kisses her.

Portia and Jack get to the hotel as Jack says his uncle isn’t really rich since he’s spent most of his money.

‘You’ve seen the way he lives. Got his boat. His house. These f***ing princesses, and lords, and these posh f***ers, yeah? They got their palazzos. They ain’t got no money. He was gonna have to sell Villa Pisano. It’s his family’s f***ing house!’ Jack drunkenly says.

‘Your family, too, though, right? Because he’s your uncle. Right?’ Portia asks, as Jack continues like she didn’t even ask that.

‘That would have f***ing killed him.But he doesn’t have to? Well, he’s coming into money now, isn’t he?

Portia asks if he is and Jack answers, ‘Yeah, yeah. And he’s gonna help his friends. ´Cause he’s very giving. I’m just happy that– that I get to, you know, help him now.’

Portia asks how she is helping him and he says, ‘I was in a f***ing hole. You know, you complain about your life, yeah? But really, you should just shut it, ´cause you ain’t never been in a f***in’ hole like that. Nah. And then he comes along and… You know, no one’s perfect. Sometimes you do things you don’t wanna do.’

Portia asks, ‘What do you mean? What kind of hole?’ as Jack says, ‘F***ing deep hole, man. Very f***ing deep,’ before he passes out, leaving Portia very confused.

Back in Palermo, a naked Niccolo caresses Tanya’s body as the episode comes to an end.

The preview for next week’s season finale shows Daphne asking Ethan if he’s OK, adding he hasn’t been himself the past few days.

Tanya asks the next days, ‘Has anyone seen Portia? This is my luck with assistants. I’m taking orders from them, and then they disappear.’

Dom asks Albie, ‘You’re just gonna go through life trying to rescue every desperate girl you come across?’ but Albie says, ‘There’s a dude stalking her.

A distraught Ethan tells Harper, ‘I know you did something!’ and Harper says, ‘It’s not like you found a condom on the couch!’ but an angry Ethan insists, ‘The difference is, I didn’t do anything!’

Portia is on the phone with someone, saying, ‘I feel like something bad is happening,’ telling Jack, ‘I need to get back to Taormina, like, right away,’ but Jack isn’t happy.

Ethan is seen punching Cameron in the sea, while Dom tells Albie, ‘I’d like to pretend it never happened, okay?’ likely referring to his tryst with Lucia.

Cameron is at dinner, toasting, ‘To friendship, to travel, to the good life,’ as the trailer ends with Harper saying, ‘Ethan? What’s gonna happen to us?’
