The Wiggles receive the Ted Albert Award for Outstanding Services to Australian Music at the APRA Awards – after scoring their first ever number one album
The Wiggles have received a high honour.
The children’s group were given the Ted Albert Award for Outstanding Services to Australian Music at the 2022 APRA Awards in Melbourne on Tuesday.

Anthony Field had said of the award: ‘On behalf of everyone who’s worked with The Wiggles over the past 31 years, I want to thank APRA for honouring us with the Ted Albert Award.
‘We have always been driven by genuine love and passion for music, and this recognition means so much to us.’

The win comes after a huge year for the group, who finally scored a number one album.
The children’s group reached the top spot on the ARIA charts with their Rewiggled double album.

It features covers of hits like Queen’s Bohemian Rhapsody, Praise You by Fatboy Slim and the AC/DC rock anthem Thunderstruck.
It was the band’s first number one album in their thirty year history of entertaining children.
The Wiggles also took out a surprise win in Triple J’s annual Hottest 100 list for 2021.
The children’s entertainers topped the list with their cover of Tama Impala’s psychedelic 2012 hit, Elephant.
