The winner of MasterChef is ‘leaked’ as betting odds reveal top contenders

MasterChef: Fans and Favourites premiered on Channel 10 on Monday night.

And just episodes into the new season, online bookmakers Sportsbet has revealed which contestants are most likely to win the show.

Harry Tomlinson is tipped to be the last remaining ‘fan’, while Billie McKay is expected to be the last ‘favourite’ standing in the battle for the $250,000 prize.

Harry has $2.50 odds, while Billie has $1.90 odds in their respective categories. 

Closely following Harry is Daniel Lamble, on $3.00 odds, while behind Billie is Christina Batista on $5.00 odds.

Billie previously won season seven of the hit show, but is back battling it out for the MasterChef trophy this season, which is season 14.

She previously worked in Heston Blumenthal’s three-Michelin star restaurant, The Fat Duck, in London.

Harry meanwhile is a coffee roaster from Melbourne who aspires to be a food writer. 

Other contestants on the show include Julie Goodwin, 51, who won the inaugural season of MasterChef Australia in 2009.

The cook was charged with drink driving twice over the legal limit four years ago, and later revealed she had been suffering from depression for which she sought treatment at a psychiatric facility.

Julie was wracked with nerves as she presented her Lebanese Shish Tawook dish to judges Andy Allen, Melissa Leong and Jock Zonfrillo, and fans said she looked ‘stressed’.

The mother of three was shaking though most of the episode and even cut her finger.

Julie fought back tears as she explained she felt a rush of the adrenaline while finding her her feet in the kitchen after several years of struggle.

‘I loved it, and I felt that fantastic adrenaline rush, but also those nerves, man, they just came back like no time had passed at all,’ she told the judges.

Jock comforted her by telling her: ‘I need you to just let it wash through your brain. You’re not an OG. You’re a winner.’
