There is NOT a secret supply of hot water: ITV rubbish claims I’m A Celebrity campmates are pampered

EXCLUSIVE ‘There is NOT a secret supply of hot water’: I’m A Celeb bosses rubbish claims of behind-the-scenes pampering at castle camp after stars are accused of enjoying warm baths, free ciggies and central heating

ITV have rubbished claims that celebrities are supplied with hot water after they were accused of providing campmates with a range of luxuries during their stay in the Welsh camp.

Stars including Good Morning Britain host Richard Madeley, Emmerdale actor Danny  Miller and French football ace David Ginola have hunkered down at 19th century Gwrych Castle near Abergele for the next three weeks.

While there, the group will be required to ‘burn wood’ and ‘manage the water pump for 40 minutes a day’ to earn ‘lukewarm water.’

But ITV have hit out following claims that warm water is actually turned on by a switch – one of numerous basic luxuries they have allegedly been afforded.

A show source told MailOnline: ‘There is NOT a secret supply of hot water.’

False: ITV have rubbished claims that celebrities are supplied with hot water on camp, saying that they have to ‘burn wood’ and ‘pump the pump for 40 minutes a day’ to earn ‘lukewarm water’

ITV bosses previously told MailOnline that the shower used in The Clink, the smaller, more basic camp, will be ‘primitive’ where contestants will have to work for their warm water.

They said: ‘It is a much smaller living space; they do get to sleep inside at least but there will be no beds for them – they will sleep on the floor.

The channel have disputed claims made by The Sun that warm water is turned on by a ‘switch.’

‘There’s a very primitive shower camp but most of their daily lives will be within a cramped and claustrophobic courtyard, all their cooking, eating, washing up, and the chores they do will all happen outside.

‘They are really going to be on top of each other for the first few days.’

The main camp was dubbed luxurious by the creative director of the show in comparison as campmates will be able to enjoy hammocks and have showers in twos.

An insider also told The Sun that the VIPs were also being plied with cigarettes.

The Sun’s source said: ‘Danny was asking for one within an hour of the entrance trial ending. David had two smokes in less than an hour.’

However, celebrities have always had access to a smoking area in both Wales and Australia.

This year’s series has been dubbed the ‘toughest ever’ by producers and includes ‘one tough challenge everyday.’

The trials will be filmed late at night, after the live show on ITV.

Campmates, therefore, will not eat their evening meal – if they win any food at all – until the early hours of the morning.

Tom said: ‘Trials always happen after the live show because obviously you have the votes within the live show and dinner is a direct result of the trial so depending on the number of stars they win if any… they will be eating dinner late.’
