Theresa May has been Prime Minister for 988 days, although her premiership may soon come to an end after she vowed to step down if her Brexit deal gets through parliament.

She got off to a flying start (There are pictures of her smiling outside number 10), before she invoked Article 50, beginning the UK’s formal exit from the EU, and decided to call a snap election while on holiday in Snowdonia.

From there her fortunes quickly tumbled as she lost her parliamentary majority and was forced to seek a ‘confidence-and-supply’ deal with the DUP.

Then, after the Grenfell fire that killed 72 people, she visited the site to meet firemen, but not survivors, and spluttered her way through a Conservative party Conference speech where the letter’s fell off the wall behind her.

Her luck didn’t get much better in July where she faced Trump’s visit to the UK and Cabinet resignations, but Theresa still came back dancing – onto stage for the October party conference.

She then vented her anger at Jean- Claude Juncker in the EU parliament when he said her Brexit position was ‘nebulous and imprecise’, and suffered the worst defeat in parliamentary history for a sitting government with her Brexit deal.

She came back to try again and suffered another defeat, before offering to resign when her Brexit deal gets through.
