Thief steals Guide Dog Charity on the Gold Coast

A brazen thief disguised as a Guide Dogs worker has stolen a charity collection from a supermarket.

Police are hunting for the man who stole the charity dog from Woolworths in Pacific Pines on the Gold Coast last Saturday at about 10.30am.

The man disguised himself as an employee of the Guide dogs dressed in a tie and even spoke with supermarket staff before stealing the collection.

He is described as being in his mid-30s, 170cm tall, medium build with receding short brown hair

He told staff he was going to replace the collection dog with a new one before walking out.

The man made off with about $300 inside the charity dog.  

The collection was found behind a nearby medical centre two days later.

Shocking video of the incident chows the man carelessly wheeling the collection dog out of the store. 

Police have asked the public to help identify the man.
