Thieves do a ‘Hatton Garden’ on a cemetery toilet

Hilarious video shows how dim-witted but determined thieves did a ‘Hatton Garden’ – on a cemetery toilet.

The gang, presumably intrigued by the alarm system, attacked the door hinges and pulled off half the roof before cutting through fake brick cladding and half an inch of steel to get in.

But, as the video shows, their first sight on excitedly entering the building would have been the base of a porcelain toilet.

The bizarre break-in is revealed in a video uploaded to a traveller site on YouTube and captioned: ‘Traveller went to visit his father’s grave and you won’t believe what he found.’

The unknown man filming the clip gives a walk-through of the half-baked heist before dissolving into laughter as the interior of the loo is revealed.

It is now known where the clip was filmed but the cemetery toilet’s security system is provided by Cleveland Sitesafe, based in Middlesborough, North Yorks.

The minute-long clip has had over 53,000 views since it was posted on November 8.

The video begins with the man walking up to the door of the cubicle, and pointing to the security sticker and alarm before commenting: ‘Obviously someone thought there was something in here, yeah?’

The unidentified man points out that they tried to cut through the door locks, unsuccessfully.

The footage then cuts to the roof, where the man points out that they had removed panels and ‘ripped all the roof off it’.

He then walks around to the side of the cubicle, saying that the thieves were ‘better off robbing a bank’.

The thieves had finally found a way in, but cutting into the side of the wall and removing a panel of brick-style cladding.

The man, now laughing, says ‘lads, look what they done’ and points out that they cut through at least half an inch of steel.

He then moves the camera into the hole in the wall and says: ‘Do you know what it is? After it all.’

Laughing the man reveals that the whole time the thieves had been trying to break into a toilet.

After pointing out the thickness of the steel the thieves would have had to go through, he says: ‘There’s some crack boys, to get into something with a toilet inside of it, in the name of God. They must have been here hours, better off robbing a bank.’

Viewer Les Cole said: ‘Raiders smashed a hole in the wall, police are looking into it.. The toilets were vandalised, police have nothing to go on.’

Sparky Malarky added: ‘The only thing these boys stole was good oxygen .’

Maud Wagner commented: ‘Wtf, and in a graveyard disrespectful c***s.’

While Gary23jag joked: ‘When ya got to go!’
