When reading the instruction manual for her own machine Leanne found out she should be performing a drum clean every 100 washes.

‘It’s so simple, add two scoops of a good quality detergent, wipe out the seals and set to drum clean, easy,’ she wrote on her post.

She said the manual had other handy tips like leaving the door open to allow the machine to dry out properly.

She also learned if her machine or washing smells she probably isn’t using enough washing powder or liquid.

Hundreds of people liked and commented on the post thanking the mum for her responsible approach to cleaning.

‘I see so many viral hacks that will just ruin the machine, thankyou for reminding us to read our manuals,’ one woman said.

‘I am so guilty, thankyou for the reminder,’ another wrote on the post.

Others said their user manuals said not to use any detergent during the drum clean.
