This is how often you should cut your hair to see results

Those who are trying to grow their hair know how hard it can be to see results, often batting away hairdresser’s scissors in an attempt to see their locks grow.

According to Australian celebrity hairstylist, Anthony Nader, this is the exact opposite of what we should be doing.

Anthony told Whimn that for those who want to have long tresses, they need to get a ‘baby’ trim every six weeks.

According to Australian celebrity hairstylist, Anthony Nader, people should be getting a ‘baby trim’ every six weeks

‘A baby trim is when you don’t want a haircut but you really just need a few millimetres taken off to strengthen and keep the ends looking healthy so they will grow nicely,’ he said.

‘By doing this you’re keeping split ends at bay and your strands will grow faster and more importantly, stronger.’

He explained that leaving your haircut too long between salon visits encourages split ends to split even further.

HAIR GROWING MASK

1. Mix two eggs with two tablespoons of olive oil.

2. Add water to dilute the mixture if it’s too sticky for your liking.

3. Apply the mask to dry hair and leave it on for thirty minutes.

4. Shampoo and condition as usual.

This then means your hairdresser has to cut off even more of your hair to stop it from splitting, which is the opposite of what you want.

The ends of your hair will also become wispy and frayed, which unfortunately means that it won’t be healthy enough to last.

Anthony said that if you have coloured hair your ends will most likely look more dehydrated and faded, so it’s important to keep your hair looking in tip-top condition by getting it trimmed.

Luckily for all of those trying to find ways to keep their hair in the best condition possible, Anthony has shared his secret.

‘Give yourself a rosemary oil scalp massage. You simply add a couple of drops to your shampoo or, dilute it with another oil like olive or coconut, and apply it directly to your scalp and massage it in and then rinse it out after a few minutes.’

Anthony also recommends that when you’re next buying hair products make sure they contain ingredients like Vitamin E, essential fatty acids, omega 9 and castor oil.
