Vanadals who plastered an SES rescue car in mud have been slammed as ‘brainless’ and ‘disrespectful.’
Queensland’s Logan City SES posted images on their Facebook page showing a response vehicle covered in mud at the Loganlea boat ramp.
Volunteers had been working on a job when they found their vehicle with thick mud splattered down the driver’s side of the car.
‘It’s unfortunate that this is the thanks Logan City SES members receive from some members of the public,’ the caption reads.

‘It’s incredibly sad to know that they think creating even more work for our volunteers is a laughing matter.
‘To this person, your five minute mud slinging just added more time to our cleanup…time away from our loved ones. So, thank you.’
The post drew a wealth of outraged responses in the comments, with many offering to help the volunteers clean the sludge from their car.
‘I was going to offer to clean it for you guys. But, seems a lot of other people beat me to it and I see you guys have already done it. Heartwarming to see so many people supporting you,’ one comment reads.
‘Still only takes a moron or two to dampen your spirits. Chin up guys. The community has your back, just as we know you have ours.
‘It’s disappointing to know that there are people out there with such a lack of respect, us volunteers give our time freely and sacrifice our spare time to give back to our communities. I’m sorry your group was targeted by idiots,’ another post reads.

Other comments were much more savage to the vandals.
‘Hope their house is flooded and on fire,’ one post says.
Southern Queensland SES volunteers were kept busy over the weekend, with heavy rain, large surf and damaging winds lashing the region.
Logan volunteers attended calls to tarp damaged roofs and sandbag homes in flooded areas.
SES South Eastern regional manager Wayne Hepple told Yahoo News Australia he believes the mud came spraying off another vehicle that drove through a large mud patch next to the SES car.
‘Queensland Fire and Emergency Services believes it was an isolated incident. SES volunteers were conducting training at the time,’ Mr Hepple said.
‘Since the start of February, South Eastern Region SES crews have responded to approximately 820 requests for assistance. The majority of these requests were for tarping leaking roofs and to provide sandbags, following heavy rainfall across the region.’
Many comments on the post slammed the heartless vandals as ‘brainless’ and disrespectful’ while offering their support for the volunteers
