A tiny, off-grid house with an outdoor bathtub sunk into the ground has been hailed as one of the best places for a romantic getaway in Australia.

The stunning retreat, on Tasmania’s Bruny Island, is a unique holiday home made entirely from sustainable materials, with a cosy loft bedroom, wood-fired stove and incredible views of the surrounding landscape.

The standout feature is undoubtedly the outdoor bath set into the decking, where visitors can fully immerse themselves in the beautiful wilderness of the country’s most southerly state.

Prices start from $393 per night with a two-night minimum stay, but you’ll need to plan ahead because the house is fully booked until mid-January 2020.

Overlooking the rugged countryside, the modern living area is fitted with pinewood from floor to ceiling, with a wood-fired stove creating a romantic atmosphere for guests.

A small kitchen and dining table gives travellers the chance to cook at home throughout their stay, adding to the charm and seclusion of the remote home.

A steep wooden staircase leads to a cosy loft bedroom perfect for two, which boasts a queen-sized bed and modern decor.

The sleek bathroom is a minimalist masterpiece, fitted with industrial grey tiling, platinum fixtures and a quirky wash basin which sits on a standalone stool detached from the wall.

Outside, two decks provide plenty of space to take in the rich nature and stunning views surrounding the property.

But the standout feature is undoubtedly the sunken outdoor bathtub set into the decking, where visitors can fully immerse themselves in the beautiful wilderness of Australia’s most southerly state.

Guests have plenty to keep them entertained, with biking, fishing, swimming and hiking all offered in the area.

Bruny Island is home to fur seals, fairy penguins, albatross, wedge-tailed eagles and white wallabies, making it one of Australia’s finest destinations for wildlife watching.
