Thomas Tuchel asks ‘when can we pull hair in a football match?’ after fiery Chelsea draw with Spurs

‘I’m surprised Cucurella isn’t BALD!’: Chelsea fans fume as Cristian Romero avoids punishment in VAR check for pulling Spaniard’s HAIR… as a furious Thomas Tuchel insists Spurs defender should have been sent off

Chelsea fans claimed Cristian Romero’s controversial late tussle with Marc Cucurella could have left the Blues defender bald seconds before Tottenham’s 96th-minute equaliser in the Premier League at Stamford Bridge on Sunday.

A VAR check resulted in no further action after centre-back Romero appeared to grab hold of Cucurella’s abundant hair in an incident shortly before Harry Kane scored a last-gasp leveller in the 2-2 draw.

Chelsea manager Tuchel told Sky Sports: ‘Since when can we pull hair in a football match? They checked and nothing happened — absolutely ridiculous.’

Some supporters were furious at the lack of action taken against Romero during the fiery clash, which saw Tuchel and Tottenham counterpart Antonio Conte physically confront each other more than once before both being sent off.

Agreeing with Tuchel, one supporter boggled: ‘I’m genuinely surprised Cucurella’s not bald, the way Romero ripped his hair.’

Conte claimed he had not seen the incident, but a baffled fan labelled Tottenham’s goals a ‘robbery’.

‘Both Tottenham goals came off clear fouls,’ they raged. ‘Havertz was getting fouled for the first Tottenham goal and Romero pulled Cucurella’s hair for the second. Should have been sent off.’
