Thredbo makes the huge call to not operate any of its ski lifts today as MASSIVE storm approaches

  • Thredbo will not be operating any ski lifts on Thursday as area braces for a storm
  • Mountain is expected to get up to 200mm of rain and winds faster than 90km/h  

Thredbo has shut down operation of its ski lifts for today due to dangerous conditions as a massive storm approaches NSW’s Snowy Mountains.

The mountain is expected to get between 120mm to 200mm of rain on Thursday as wild weather lashes the region.

‘Winds already gusting in excess of 90 km/h at Thredbo Top Station and widespread thunderstorms now developing across the southern interior of NSW,’ the Bureau of Meteorology Tweeted.
