Three hurt after explosion rocks restaurant in Sydney

An explosion at an Indian restaurant in Sydney’s west left three people badly injured.

Emergency crews rushed to the Spice of Life restaurant in Harris Park following the blast at around 11pm on Tuesday.

Staff at the restaurant suffered burns to their arms and legs after an explosion in the coolroom, the Nine Network reports.

Three of the restaurant’s staff members, aged 24, 25 and 56, needed hospital treatment for burns.

The blast is not believed to be suspicious. 

‘SafeWork NSW is aware of the incident at the restaurant at Harris Park and is making further enquiries,’ a SafeWork spokesman told Daily Mail Australia.
