Paramedics tried to save the man, however he died at the scene after suffering cardiac arrest.

The victim’s belongings were reportedly found packed into a car, according to Nine News.

The alleged offenders, aged 36, 37 and 41, were all from Brighton East and were arrested and questioned.

Paul Levy, the father of one of the accused men, rushed to the property after learning of his son’s alleged involvement.

‘My daughter phoned me in tears and said it’s on the news and I came rushing down,’ he told Nine News.

‘He’s lived here about five years, he’s been a chef in Hampton for some time.’

The incident shocked the upmarket Melbourne suburb, with one neighbour telling of hearing a man screaming ‘in a lot of pain’ on the night.
