Three more animals have been found slaughtered in the area where a dead sheep was found covered in black magic pentagram symbols, in a spate of killings attributed to a Satanic-style cult.

Over the last week the bodies of three livestock have been found near roadsides in Hampshire’s New Forest, with the animals suffering puncture wounds.

Police said today they are probing whether the deaths are connected to a series of mysterious livestock killings in the area over the last few months.

In the latest attacks two were found in Cadnam – one having suffered a puncture wound to its shoulder – while the third sheep was found in Bramshaw, with puncture wounds to its neck.

At the start of the month an ewe was found stabbed to death in Cadnam and dumped in the middle of a road, next to a broken inscribed pitchfork and a cross made of hay and straw.

Another sheep was found ‘slit from neck to crotch with entrails removed’ in the village of Boldre.

In November, a shocking photograph of a slaughtered sheep covered with pentagrams in Bramshaw emerged. The animal was one of two sheep knifed to death during a spate of attacks within a few miles of each other.

It is thought the total number of sheep killed since November is now at seven.

Three cattle were also brutally knifed in November, a heifer was injured and a 12th century church in Bramshaw was sprayed with Satanic symbols and the number ‘666’.

Following this week’s attacks on three sheep, a farmer said they are ‘clearly linked to the others’ as they were killed ‘in a similar manner’.

Wendy Maughan, 60, whose sheep was killed last week and dumped in the road, today said: ‘I have seen some of the dead animals. From what I have seen they have clearly been killed or maimed in the same manner.

‘It is clearly linked to the others. It is definitely the same people doing this.

‘For us as a community we just want this to be over. It has been going on for some time now and it is getting serious.’

A Hampshire Constabulary spokesman today said the latest attacks may have happened overnight.

The spokesman added: ‘As part of their enquiries, officers will look to see if there are any links between these sheep deaths, and with any other similar incidents in the New Forest. Targeted patrols of areas in the New Forest will continue.

‘Officers from Hampshire Constabulary’s Country Watch team are also liaising with partners, including verderers and affected livestock owners.’

Last week Andrew Parry-Norton, 51, who runs a small farm, said: ‘It’s starting to get worrying in terms of putting animals out in the forest.

‘We are also quite isolated up this lane and it’s all rather worrying.

‘The worrying thing for us is that whoever the perpetrator is, if they do that with animals, what would they do if you were to disturb or corner them while they were up to no good.’
