Three more Australians confirmed dead in White Island volcano disaster

Twenty four Australians were among 47 on White Island when it erupted.

Four have died and at least three have been named as ‘officially missing’ and many more are unidentified in hospital.

New Zealand Police said there was a ‘definitive’ list of those who are in hospital but could not be released due to privacy reasons.

Of those seven, four have since been confirmed dead by their families.

Police said it is not a complete list of missing as they have been unable to speak with all next of kin.

Many more are listed missing on a Red Cross website set up for families.
