Three young friends aged in their 20s have been killed in a horror crash.

Kyle Retallack, 27, Joshua Cox, 26, and Chloe Websdale, 23, died after their white Nissan Patrol crashed on the Brookton Highway in Lesley, Western Australia, at 3pm on Sunday.

The group had been on their way home from a weekend camping trip when the vehicle left the road and crashed into a tree.

Emergency services reportedly took more than three hours to pull the bodies from the wrecked car due to the extensive damage.

The friends were believed to be wearing seatbelts and were not speeding.

‘The scenes that the first responders had to respond to were things that they will probably never forget in their careers,’ WA Police acting Commissioner Mike Peters said.

Mr Retallack’s friends told the West Australian he was an ‘incredibly funny and lovely’ bloke, and ‘one of the most caring people’.

Mr Cox’s family told Nine News he was ‘free spirited’ and had a ‘gentle heart’.

On Facebook, Mr Cox’s younger brother said he was ‘so grateful for the time we had together in this lifetime’.

‘Words can’t describe how I’m feeling … I will forever cherish every moment,’ he wrote.
‘Why do the great people have to go?’ another mate asked, sharing the news of Mr Cox’s passing online.

Ms Websdale’s cricketing friends at the Rockingham Hornets said she would be ‘greatly missed’ by her women’s A grade squad and the greater club.

Police have yet to release further details, and previously stated it was too early to understand the cause of the crash.

Investigators are asking witnesses to contact Crime Stoppers.
