Thug turns on good Samaritan after attacking elderly lady

A good Samaritan trying to help out an elderly woman had the tables turned on him when the thug lurched at him instead.

Shocking footage taken on Monday outside a Coles south of Melbourne shows a 29-year-old man holding the woman in a headlock as Alex rushed over to help.

He had seen the man and his friend taunting the woman’s dog, and when she moved it away, Alex told 7 News the men followed her and shouted threats against her dog.

He claims the men were threatening to kick and kill her dog before one man shoved the elderly woman against a wall and to the ground.

After confronting the thug, Alex found himself in danger as the 29-year-old turned on him.

CCTV vision from the nearby service station shows Alex being beaten up in the drive way.

As he is kicked and punched, a car is seen, brake lights on, waiting to get past.

The man inside is not seen moving until the thug loses interest in beating up Alex and walks away.

But he changes his mind, with footage showing the man come back for a second round, where it appears both Alex and the driver find themselves in trouble.

Police told Daily Mail Australia Alex and the woman were treated at the scene for non-life threatening injuries.

The 29-year-old Sandringham man was arrested at a house in Hampton East later that night, and charged with assault related offences.

He was bailed to appear at Moorabbin Magistrate’s Court on November 27.
