A gang of thugs deliberately ran over and killed a cat before returning to cheer and swear at her owners.
Lilly the tabby cat, who was pregnant, was killed at about 9.30pm on Thursday when a group of teenage boys in a silver Subaru ran her over outside her home in Palmerston North, New Zealand.
Natelle Smith said two carloads of boys cheered and raised their hands in the air after colliding with her friend’s pet, the New Zealand Herald reported.

‘We were all distraught and they came back past and did the fingers to us as we were picking her up.’ Ms Smith said.
‘So they did it on purpose. It wasn’t an accident. They did the fingers to us – what does that tell you?’
The horrified woman added that her cat Flash – Lilly’s brother – howled and tried to pick up his sister’s body as she lay dying.
Ms Smith’s son’s girlfriend Brittany Ekenasio owned Lilly, and is said to be ‘distraught’.
The incident has been reported to the police.
