Tiger Woods causes a stir as he moors his $20m yacht ‘Privacy’ in marina ahead of the US Open

Tiger Woods doesn’t need a hotel while he chases his fourth U.S. Open title – he brought his own $20 million pad.

The star golfer docked his 155ft yacht Privacy at the Gurney’s Montauk Yacht Club marina in the Hamptons ahead of the tournament in June 14.

Privacy dwarfed the dozens of small vessels moored in the sleepy harbor about an hour’s drive from Shinnecock Hills where the Open is held.

‘Tiger Woods pulled up and asked to trade boats. I respectfully declined,’ Grant Monahan joked on Instagram on Wednesday.

Woods is believed to be staying on his yacht throughout the tournament, but whether he would be holed up in Montauk all week was unclear.

The dark wood is a theme throughout the yacht’s furnishings along with walls covered in white silk and upholstered leather furniture.

Woods tried to sell the yacht, which has entertained friends including Bill Gates, Oprah Winfrey, and Michael Jordan, in 2011 but couldn’t find a buyer.
