Tiger Woods is BACK and will play Genesis Invitational – with The Masters at Augusta in two months

BREAKING NEWS: Tiger Woods is BACK and will play at next week’s Genesis Invitational – seven months after his last appearance – ahead of The Masters at Augusta in April

Tiger Woods is playing the Genesis Invitational next week, his first tournament since The British Open last July.

The 47-year-old, a 15-time major winner, is playing for the first time in seven months in what appears to be an effort to find some form ahead of The Masters at the beginning of April.

The PGA Tour confirmed the news on Friday and Woods himself tweeted: ‘I’m finally ready to play an ACTUAL PGA Tour event next week.’

Last year, Woods finished 47th at Augusta, playing through the pain barrier after a serious car accident in February 2021 that still impacts his ability to walk.

Woods was also diagnosed with plantar fasciitis last year, a foot issue that causes pain in the heel and arch of the foot.
