Tigerair slashes airfares $25 to destinations Australia

Tigerair has slashed its prices down to just $25 to celebrate flying its 25 millionth passenger.

The budget airline launched the massive sale on Thursday, slashing fares on more than 80 of its domestic routes.

Savvy travellers will be able to bag themselves a flight from Brisbane to the idyllic Whitsundays for just $25, and Sydney to the Queensland holiday destination for $75.

Tigerair launched the sale at midday on Thursday and announced it would finish at midday Saturday September 9, or until all the sale flights sold out. 

The sale fares are for travel between late January and late June in 2018. 

Tigerair said the sale celebrated a momentous milestone for the airline.

‘The majority of these customers have flown for less than $100. Today we’ve flown over 200,000 domestic flights and over 230 million kilometres, delivering healthy competition to the budget air travel market.’

Tigerair said it reserved 1000 seats for the $25-ticket sale. 

The $25 airfares include Brisbane to the Whitsundays, Sydney to the Gold Coast, Adelaide to Melbourne, Brisbane to Sydney, Coffs to Sydney, Melbourne to Hobart, and more. 

The airline also reduced longer-haul flights to $50 and $75.

For $50 people can fly from Adelaide to Sydney, Brisbane to Canberra, Brisbane to Cairns, Brisbane to Melbourne and Melbourne to the Gold Coast.

For $75 travellers can book a flight from Adelaide to Brisbane, Brisbane to Darwin, Brisbane to Perth, Cairns to Sydney and Cairns to Melbourne.

Tigerair urged people to jump on the deal because there were a finite number of seats available on each route.

There were also designated travel dates for specific flights.
