Tinder launches Reactions that lets users send animations

After matching with someone on Tinder, there’s no knowing what their opening message will be, or how you should reply.

But help is at hand for when you just can’t put your reply into words, in the form of Tinder Reactions – a new feature, similar to Facebook Reactions.

The feature allows users to reply with full-screen flirty animations, including hearts, laughing faces or a big red cross, should you not like their message.

HOW TO USE TINDER REACTIONS

The feature gives users a selection of responses that can be used at any stage of conversation.

These range from a gentle nudge, in the form of an animation that says ‘the ball’s in your court!’ to a bold gesture, in the form of an animation showing a drink being thrown in their face.

To send a Reaction, open a conversation on Tinder and tap the smiley icon.

You can then scroll through Reactions and select the one of your choice to send.

Designed by the women of Tinder, Reactions aim to give women extra tools to express themselves on the app.

The feature allows users to give instant feedback – both positive as well as constructive – to those who need it most.

To help develop Tinder Reactions, Tinder enlisted the help of Whitney Cummings, a comedian and actress.

Ms Cummings said: ‘Sometimes men need a little guidance when it comes to communicating on dating apps.

‘And by a little, I mean a lot.

‘Knowing I’m an expert on d*****bags, Tinder reached out to me for help.

‘I teamed up with the awesome, smart, bold women of Tinder to develop a new product that helps you tell guys how you really feel.’
