A serial con artist who tricked two men into believing she had terminal cancer and conned them out of thousands of dollars has walked free from court.

Rebecca Gray was handed a suspended sentence at Perth court on Monday despite pleading guilty to three counts of fraud after scamming the men out of $11,000 and lying about her deteriorating health.

The two men had no idea Gray was seeing the other, and both helped the 33-year-old raise her young son, Nine News reported.

Although she lied about suffering from liver cancer, Gray appeared in court on Monday claiming she has ongoing health issues and can’t walk without aids.

The 33-year-old’s lawyer said Gray was abused in an earlier relationship and is suffering health issues related to that.

Sean Fry, 32, dated Gray for 18 months and claimed he became a father figure to her three-year-old son and supported her through PTSD, a miscarriage and her terminal cancer diagnosis.

All the while Gray was feeding the same lies to another man, with her making up elaborate stories to stop each of them suspecting she may have been cheating.

Gray appeared to have been suffering tremors while in court on Monday, and was seen shaking when leaving court in October.

Mr Fry believes these are both manipulative tactics and doesn’t think Gray will learn from what she’s done.

‘Pure evil and that’s why, like I say there’s nothing I have to say to her or can say to her that’ll change her, that’s just who she is and she’ll just keep going. Punishments like today are no deterrent,’ he said.

The court heard Gray met three men on dating app Tinder and fed them all an elaborate lie to scam them of money and help raising her child.

Mr Fry said didn’t uncover Gray’s lies until a year into the relationship, but found it hard to believe.

‘Especially with the kid, we just fell in love with him and you don’t want to uncover any lies because you want to be there for him and I don’t think you let yourself believe it,’ he said.

Not only was she lying to the two men in her life, she had also lied to her family, telling them she’d had cancer since 2007.

Mr Fry discovered all the times Gray had claimed to be in hospital she had been with her other boyfriend.

He also said he’s never received an apology from his former girlfriend and doubt’s he ever will, but wants to warn others.

The 33-year-old walked free from court with an eight-month suspended sentence.
