To Catch a Cheater man who proposed to his girlfriend is shocked to find out she wasn’t pregnant

A man who proposed to his girlfriend after she announced her pregnancy was given a huge shock after he got down on one knee.

Just moments after their engagement his fiancée revealed that she wasn’t having a baby, and had only said so to fend off the advances of a man who was pestering her for a date.

The situation arose when the unnamed boyfriend from the US enlisted the help of YouTube’s To Catch a Cheater team to find out if his partner would be unfaithful when approached by a male model.

When her boyfriend – whose name wasn’t revealed – saw the clip of her telling the suitor she was expecting, the team asked if we was going to propose.

At first he seemed reluctant, but decided to get a ring and pop the question, which she giddily accepted.

When the team congratulated her on getting engaged and being pregnant she looked surprised, revealing that she’d made it up to stop the man pestering her.

And her boyfriend couldn’t help looking baffled and horrified as it dawned on him that he’d proposed unnecessarily.

To Catch a Cheater sets up hidden camera-style situations to secretly catch people out being unfaithful to their partners.

The girlfriend in the latest clip was seen eating at a restaurant when a model chosen approached her, asking her if she wanted a private personal training session with him.

She told him no at first because she had a boyfriend, but when that didn’t work she said she was pregnant.

Little did she know that her boyfriend was watching the whole thing, and had no idea that she was apparently expecting his child.

While he initially seemed shocked by the news and unsure how to react, he decided it was the right time to make things official.

He planned an elaborate proposal by leaving her notes across town directing her to different places that were special to their relationship, before finally meeting her at the place where they met and had their first kiss.

He then got down on one knee and she accepted his proposal, before the pair shared a hug and he told her all about the hidden camera.

The To Catch a Cheater team congratulated the new fiancée on the engagement and her pregnancy, but she looked baffled and said: ‘What? Do you think I look fat?’.

When the presenter explained further, she admitted: ‘I just said that to make him go away.’

The woman, whose face was kept hidden in the clip, said she couldn’t wait to tell her parents and put the news on Instagram.

Despite her boyfriend initially looking crestfallen, he conceded that he would have proposed to his girlfriend eventually, saying: ‘It did help me push.’
