It’s one of the biggest scandals to hit Australia breakfast television.
And now, Georgie Gardner – the woman at the centre of the aptly nicknamed Ubergate – has finally gotten her revenge on her Today co-host Karl Stefanovic.
Georgie was reportedly ‘furious’ after a conversation Karl had with his brother Peter in an Uber was released to the public in which he claimed his co-host didn’t have enough opinions’ and needed to ‘step up’.
Georgie gets her revenge! Karl lies in a bath of mealworms as his co-host says ‘there is no harm in seeing you squirm for a bit’ following Ubergate
But it appears Georgie has gotten some semblance of revenge on her co-host thanks to a segment which forces Today hosts to face their fears.
Earlier challenges saw sports host Tim Gilbert conquer his fear of heights, while Georgie was made to get up close and personal with a large snake.
But finding a fear for Karl to face proved a challenge for producers because, as he claims, he is ‘afraid of everything’.
Despite that, they still managed to narrow down a very icky-challenge for the 43-year-old to conquer.
Dressed in a blue jumpsuit, a clearly apprehensive Karl was led on to the Today set where an empty bathtub awaited him.

Here we go: After donning protective goggles, the host positioned himself in the bath before learning his fate
Bucket load: Sitting at the head of the bathtub in a large bucket were hundreds-of-thousands of tiny, squirming mealworms

‘Karl, we’ve got some little creatures here,’ co-host Richard ‘Dickie’ Wilkins told him.

Not the face! With the assistance of a mealworm expert, Richard tipped the entire contents of the bucket over Karl’s body.
Raining down: During the process a squirming Karl could be heard yelling out to Richard not to tip the creatures onto his face just in case they ate his ‘fake hair’
Revenge: A delighted-looking Georgie stood on the side of the bath holding a microphone and making sure to capture all of her co-hosts sequels of fear

Enjoyable: Georgie could also be heard telling her co-host that there was ‘no harm in seeing you squirm for a bit’

How do you feel? Eventually, after the mealworms had been given amply time to venture into all of Karl’s open crevices, he was helped out of the bath by Georgie.
