Today show host Georgie Gardner playfully chased her co-host around the studio with a chainsaw in April, after persistent rumours of tension between the pair.
And on Friday, Georgie jokingly covered Karl Stefanovic’s mouth and nose with a neck pillow during a ‘travel happy’ segment.
The playful smothering by the 46-year-old came as a shock to Karl, with his eyes widening as Georgie held the cloth over his face.

Before the incident occurred, the pair had both joked there was ‘a bit of turbulence here on set.’
When shown how the wrap-around neck pillow worked by their guest, Georgie asked to try it for herself.
She soon turned on Karl, laughing as she restricted the 43-year-old TV star from talking with the travel product.

The gesture appeared to be in good humour, with the co-hosts laughing and giggling throughout the segment.
When their guest demonstrated the products, Georgie and Karl were at times left unimpressed, chuckling as they mocked the items.
‘Do you have anything that’s actually practical?’ Karl asked bluntly, slamming one product in particular: ‘that is the biggest waste of money.’
‘Well, we’ll never get that time back, will we?’ Karl ended the segment.

Georgie previously appeared on Today as the newsreader from 2007 to 2014, and she was the Nine Network’s first choice to fill Lisa Wilkinson’s position after the former co-host’s sensational defection to Network Ten last October.
During her announcement as Today’s newest co-host in November, the pair joked that they ‘loathed each other’ as Georgie added: ‘We’ve had our bumps… strap yourself in everyone, because anything could happen, but it’s going to be great – I hope!’
