Today host Karl Stefanovic brutally sledges Married At First Sight stars

Today host Karl Stefanovic BRUTALLY sledges Married At First Sight stars after the Logie Awards: ‘They aren’t the smartest blokes in the world’

They may be on the same network, but Today host Karl Stefanovic doesn’t think much of the grooms from Married At First Sight.

A handful of MAFS stars appeared on the Channel Nine breakfast show for its live post-Logies broadcast from the Gold Coast on Monday.

And on Tuesday morning, Karl and newsreader Alex Cullen couldn’t resist making a joke at the grooms’ expense.

They may be on the same network, but Today host Karl Stefanovic (left, with Allison Langdon) doesn’t think much of the grooms from Married At First Sight

Alex was reading a news bulletin about Antarctic expeditioners taking ice baths in their Speedos during the winter solstice.

Karl then referenced how the ‘MAFS guys’ had also jumped in ice baths a day earlier to help them recover from their Logies hangovers.

‘They aren’t the smartest blokes in the world, those MAFS guys. Let’s face it,’ he added.

‘They stayed in that ice bath for a long time,’ his co-host Allison Langdon replied.

‘The lights are on but no one’s home!’ Karl added. ‘A few kangaroos loose in the top paddock with those MAFS guys.’

It comes after Married At First Sight stars Al Perkins, Brent Vitiello and Jack Millar gatecrashed the Today show on Monday morning.

Al stripped down to a pair of skimpy swimming trunks before plunging into an ice bath that had been set up on the beach.

Married At First Sight is one of Channel Nine’s biggest ratings blockbusters.

Despite Karl looking down on the reality series, MAFS is known to help boost the Today show’s ratings when it airs in the first quarter of the year.

Despite living on the Gold Coast, MAFS 2022 participants Tamara, Samantha Moitzi and Mitch Eynaud were all snubbed from the Logies this year.

Cheaters Daniel Holmes and Carolina Santos, one of the only couples to remain together from this year’s season, were also forgotten about.

The MAFS stars on the guest list were Al, Brent, Jack, Selina Chhaur, Dion Giannarelli, Ella Ding, Domenica Calarco, Johnny Balbuziente and Kerry Knight.

Married At First Sight was nominated for Most Popular Reality Program at the Logies, but lost to MasterChef Australia.
