The Today Show has been forced to play advertisements and TV show reruns for over an hour after the breakfast show suffered an ‘engineering issue’.

The program, which is normally hosted by Ally Langdon and Karl Stefanovic, suffered a technical glitch at its North Sydney headquarters on Monday.

‘We had an engineering issue at our North Sydney studios which has now been resolved,’ a statement from the Nine Network said.

The Today Show was pulled off the air after playing for one minute without sound and replaced with a prerecorded episode of Talking Honey.

It comes as Today Extra host David Campbell and former 9News foreign correspondent Amelia Adams have been filling in for the co-hosts.

More to come.
