Todd Carney speaks about girlfriend Susie Bradley’s footy brawl

Married At First Sight’s Susie Bradley was filmed being dragged away from a brawl at a rugby league game in Byron Bay earlier this month.

And while she is yet to publicly address her shameful behaviour, Susie’s NRL star boyfriend Todd Carney has confirmed she was ‘upset’ when footage of the fight was leaked to the press.

Speaking on The Kyle and Jackie O Show on Tuesday, Todd said: ‘Like anything it gets glorified in the media, but I don’t know what really went on.’   

Numerous videos showed Susie kicking and screaming as her friends dragged her away from a brawl that took place on the sidelines during a Ladies’ Day game.

She was even seen lunging aggressively towards a woman before being escorted off the field by two people.

The mother-of-one had been watching Todd play with his local team in Byron Bay when a fight broke out in the crowd.  

‘Something went on at the football and luckily I was on the field, because I’m a mad fighter,’ Todd joked on Kyle and Jackie O.

Todd went on to say: ‘The main focus was that she was okay and that’s what I left it at, and we’ve moved on from it.’   

The pair met in January this year after Todd ‘slid into the DMs’ of Susie’s Instagram inbox after they had been liking each other’s social media posts for weeks.

He told the radio show he received a lot of backlash when they first began dating as people thought Married At First Sight was live and she was being unfaithful to her TV husband Billy Vincent.

‘I felt like she was cheating on me’: Todd joked that he avoided watching the Channel Nine show as he didn’t like seeing  girlfriend Susie with her co-host ‘ husband’ Billy

Todd also revealed for the same reason he avoided the Channel Nine show: ‘I couldn’t watch it, because I felt like she was cheating on me.’

Earlier this month, Susie celebrated her six-month dating anniversary with Todd by sharing a touching Instagram post.

She wrote: ‘Six months ago today I knew I had found him. In six short months we have grown so much as a couple. 

‘We have laughed, we have cried, we have battled relentlessly with attention, both positive and negative, we have had our names tattooed, we’ve been on an overseas holiday, we have grown in love each day, learning as a new family of three.’ 

Susie has a three-year-old daughter Baby from a previous relationship.
