Tom Brady denies being ‘close friends’ with Mayweather

Is the friendship between Floyd Mayweather Jr. and football star Tom Brady over?

The New England Patriots quarterback was asked about how close the pair were during an interview on Boston radio show ‘Kirk & Callahan’ and he seemingly downplayed their friendship.

The hosts first asked the football star if he was indeed close friends with the boxer, who has previously claimed they were.

Brady replied: ‘No, I met him a couple times. I think he’s a great fighter. That was a great fight the other night.’

The 40-year-old Super Bowl champion said that he did not attend Saturday’s highly-anticipated boxing match between Mayweather and Conor McGregor. He added that he didn’t watch the fight until the next day, because he had a friend’s wedding to attend.

The show’s hosts then brought up Mayweather’s history of domestic violence before stating to Brady that they couldn’t imagine he would be friends with him.
