Tom Brady enjoys retired life as he chats with friend David Grutman on Italian yacht trip with Leonardo DiCaprio and pals

Tom Brady looked as if he was enjoying the sweet life on Tuesday when his friend David Grutman shared a photo of the two together deep in conversation aboard a yacht.

The 45-year-old NFL legend and the 48-year-old restaurateur and club owner were among the guests of a star-studded coterie, which included Leonardo DiCaprio and other mutual friends.

The group was seen sailing in Sardinia, Italy, with the gorgeous coast visible through a window just behind Grutman.

Despite announcing his retirement ‘for good’ in February after a few seasons with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Brady still looked fit and lithe as he soaked up some late afternoon sun.

His trip comes as a source close to him revealed exclusively to DailyMail.com that he still yearns to go back to playing football, though it may be functionally impossible for him to once again unretire at this point.

‘Coffee talk’: Tom Brady, 45, and his club owner pal David Grutman were seen chatting on a yacht in Sardinia, Italy, in a photo Grutman posted on Tuesday

Brady was shirtless and wore blue-and-white shorts and black sunglasses as he chatted with Grutman on a towel-covered blue, white and red sofa aboard the luxury yacht.

Grutman was dressed in a white graphic T-shirt and white shorts, and he appeared to be drinking an espresso.

‘Coffee Talk,’ Grutman captioned the photo.

‘I’m ready for my hospitality internship 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣,’ Brady joked in a comment, referencing his friend’s line of business.

But the football icon also got a playful ribbing from his friend David Beckham, who added in the comments, ‘Tom looks a little bored to be honest,’ while tagging both men pictured.

Brady’s yacht trip featured some surprising bedfellows, as his traveling companion DiCaprio — who wasn’t pictured — is an ex-boyfriend of his ex-wife Gisele Bündchen, though nowadays he almost exclusively dates women considerably younger than himself.

Allthough Tom and Gisele’s split had been rumored for some time, the two didn’t announce their divorce until October of last year, and shortly afterward it was revealed that the process had been finalized.

‘We arrived at this decision amicably and with gratitude for the time we spent together,’ Brady said in a statement at the time. ‘We are blessed with beautiful and wonderful children who will continue to be the center of our world in every way.’

‘We wish only the best for each other as we pursue new chapters in our lives that are yet to be written,’ he added.

Brady and Bündchen share two children — Vivian and Benjamin — while he also has an older son, Jack, from his relationship with Bridget Moynahan.

Although Tom is clearly enjoying his retirement, a source told DailyMail.com exclusively that he still itches to get back on the field.

‘Tom misses football, loves playing, and would love nothing more than to compete again on the grandest stage and win another Super Bowl. But as amazing as those thoughts sound, he has made the decision to retire from the NFL once and for all,’ they said.

They added that it was ‘very unlikely and close to impossible,’ that he might come back to an NFL team at this point.

Fans will still see plenty of him on television, though, as he recently signed a $375 million deal with Fox to work as a sports analyst.
