Tom Daley enjoys a family day at Universal Studios with his husband and their son Robbie, 4

Tom Daley enjoyed a family trip to Universal Studios in Hollywood on Thursday with his husband Dustin Lance Black and son Robbie, 4.

The Olympic champion, 28, shared a glimpse of the fun with his 3.4million Instagram followers as the trio made the most of the sunny weather.

Tom revealed that while his son and husband loved the theme park’s rides, he was enamoured with the snacks.

The doting parents shared snaps as they beamed for the camera posing alongside the tot’s favourite Jurassic World dinosaur.

Tom lovingly held Robbie on his hip as the little one grasped at the collar of his father’s T-shirt.

The proud LGBTQ+ activist donned a baby blue top emblazoned with the word Love in a psychedelic rainbow colour scheme – from his own brand Made with Love.

Wearing his dark locks in a simple style he slipped his feet into comfy high top trainers for a busy day in the theme park.

Meanwhile Oscar winning screenwriter Dustin opted for an all black ensemble as he shared the rucksack duties with his other half.

The parents dressed their son in mustard shorts and a black T-shirt protecting his head from the sun with a straw hat.

Tom captioned the post: ‘Our little family went to Universal Studios!  Robbie loved the Jurassic World Ride, Lance loved the Waterworld show and I loved the snacks!’.

Later the trio, who live in London, then enjoyed some much needed rest with an afternoon on the golden Californian sands .

This comes after Tom confessed that he feels there is ‘extra pressure’ on same sex couples to be ‘good parents’.

The Olympic diver, who welcomed Robbie via surrogacy, revealed that he sometimes feels judged by people when out in public.

Speaking to Giovanna Fletcher on her Happy Mum Happy Baby podcast, Tom explained: ‘Being same sex dads, I felt a lot of extra pressure to be good parents and to be doing the right thing.’

He continued: ‘You do always feel a bit judged when you’re out in public because you want to be showing that you’re doing the best you possibly can, and I think it can be weird sometimes for people to see two dads and a baby.

‘We always felt like we had to be the best parents that we could ever be and do all of the right things, we were desperate to be parents just like everybody else.

‘It was that constant feeling of having to prove ourselves above and beyond.’

Tom discussed the complexity of same sex couples becoming parents as he revealed his worries that came when he first realised that he was gay.

He said: ‘Once I started to realise that I was gay, it was like, how am I going to have children in the future? What does this look like for me? What are the options?

‘Having to figure out exactly how that was going to work, looking down the routes of adoption, surrogacy and all of those different things.’
